Unicoi state park, Helen, GA with Greg and Ela

Unicoi state park, Helen, GA. Our Grandkids were visiting, and we still had our pop-up camper, so we took both campers here to camp with Greg and Ela. They have "buddy sites" at many of the GA state parks where you can get two sites together. Greg built a campfire both nights, and the guys hiked to Helen along the 3 mile trail, while the girls drove. We hitched a ride with the girls on the way back. Brady hiked all but about 1/2 mile. Helen is a town that mimics a Bavarian Oktoberfest type of town, and they have German restaurants and an annual Oktoberfest celebration. Swam in the beach area of Unicoi lake and also hiked up to Anna Ruby falls. Ela wanted to stop and look at BIG campers on the way back so we stopped at Camping City. They had a buffet at the Unicoi lodge while we were there, with all you can eat trout available! Yummy!
